Lord, as you call each of us by name,
may we call the names of one another
with affection, respect and reverence.
As you accept and love us the way we are,
give us the wisdom and courage to do the same
for ourselves and for our brothers and sisters.

When the song of the angels is stilled,

When the star in the sky is gone,

When the kings and princes are home,

When the shepherds are back with their flock,

The work of Christmas begins:

Lord, we are so often overwhelmed by
the busyness of this time of the year.
O come Emmanuel,
come into our hearts
and show us by your light
